Michael Thieke & Rhodri Davies
Berlin-based clarinetist, composer and performer Michael Thieke is at home in a variety of musical contexts, from experimental song forms to collectively composed projects and improvised ensembles exploring the boundaries of jazz. His work focuses on the exploration of sound, timbre and noise, particularly in the area of microtonality. He also explores the qualities of slowness and prefers long-term artistic collaborations.
Rhodri Davies immerses himself in different musical worlds, from improvisation and experimental music to classical performance. He is a harpist and also explores the possibilities of live electronics and installations with different types of harps. Davies has released seven solo albums and is known for his creative diversity and experimentation.
