Albedo

“Albedo” consists of DJ sets played by artists, visitors or other people associated with the festival, as well as externally invited people. The DJ sets can be attended in a cozy and intimate setting in the festival tent of the Jazz Festival Willisau. At the same time, they will be broadcast live by Bernese internet radio station Radio Bollwerk, Lucerne’s Radio 3FACH, Lausanne’s Radio-40 and Basel’s Radiopolis, with the former two co-curating individual slots.

13:30 – 14:30
Hanni Troxler & Sepp Stadelmann
Two siblings who are an integral part of the Willisau cultural world. Hanni Troxler and Sepp Stadelmann (also known as “Flaschensepp”) present their first DJ set. Music style “honest”, or “field, forest and meadow music”, they said. They play music that touches them or makes them feel connected and warm – be it classic ballads, rock anthems, their own productions or songs by the worst bands they know.

14:45 – 15:45
Simone Felber
Simone Felber’s musical creations are on the borderline of folk music, both in the performative and educational fields. With “Simone Felbers iheimisch“, “Simone Felber X James Varghese” and “hedi drescht”, she composes new yodel melodies that are intended to adapt to today’s society in words and music, sings with the a cappella quartet “famm” about role models in Swiss folk songs and is the conductor of the feminist yodel choir “Echo vom Eierstock”. She will also be playing live on the tent stage with Simone Felbers iheimisch at 6 pm.

16:00 – 17:00
SPACE
The third DJ set will be performed by the trio SPACE, who will then give their concert in the hall at 8 pm. Pianist Lisa Ullén, drummer Anna Lund and bassist Donovan von Martens will bring the first Albedo day to a close.

“Albedo” [the measure of the reflection of sunlight] aims to take an in-depth look at the personal perspectives of the music practiced and experienced. In addition to the music played on the various stages of the festival, a network of sounds will be created that will further enrich and open up the impressions and associations of the festival experience. And hopefully, with this musical interweaving, “Albedo” will also be a space of social connection, characterized by extensive, collective listening and shared presence.

Free radical cozyness.
